Words of Appreciation
The Botur Family and all of Tennisport's Staff and Pros would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the members, friends, leagues, schools, junior tennis programs and the general public who made Tennisport their home court since our doors opened in 1974. We recognize that so many of you supported our facility through the lows and the peaks of what appeared to be an endless battle to sustain our tennis business through the years. Without you, we would never have made it this far.
After more than 20 years, our fight is now over as the City says it is ready to "put the shovel in the ground" this fall to begin the infrastructure for their waterfront development plan, which includes our site and the land south of us.
We leave with heavy hearts but empowered by the outreach, kind words, genuine concern and love that has been extended to us by your letters, phone calls, hugs and hand shakes.
Tennisport was not just a business, but a way of life. We will greatly miss the daily interaction with our clients and will long to see the city skyline through our clubhouse windows each day.
Although Tennisport's physical doors are closing, we are confident that another door of opportunity will open. We will keep our website updated with any significant new developments in our quest to develop a new facility to continue serving you with our tennis expertise and quality of service that has distinguished us amongst others.
Doris will remain on staff for Tennisport as a liaison to you and operate under our consulting title in the interim. Doris will also continue her tennis shop and is currently looking for a new location. In the meantime, she will gladly place special orders for all your tennis needs. Our phone number will remain the same: 718-392-1880.
We thank you and will miss you but feel saying "good-bye" would be to permanent.
So instead . . . .
Good luck and be well until next time,
Your Friends and Family at Tennisport
